BioBlaze provides STEM K-12 outreach, biotech workshops for adults, ongoing global and local community projects, and a space for grassroots innovation in science for people to work on their own projects. At BioBlaze, we strive to democratize science by providing a coworking lab space and shared equipment to promote open-source collaboration among people with diverse knowledge and backgrounds.

BioBlaze has since relocated from its original South Elgin location to West Chicago, IL. Current hours are 12pm–8pm daily; phone (479) 871-7151.

As of mid-2026, its website (bioblaze.org) has expired and its Meetup group has been deleted; status here is marked unknown rather than active. Its IRS nonprofit filing (EIN 82-4075675) is current through tax period December 2024 and its exemption is not revoked, so the organization likely still exists — its web presence has just lapsed.
