Hacklab.TO is a not-for-profit community hackerspace and makerspace, founded in 2008, open to artists, programmers, hardware hackers, and makers of all kinds. Members get 24/7 access; the space hosts a weekly open house every Tuesday at 6pm.
Alongside general fabrication and electronics equipment (laser cutter, 3D printers, ham radio setup), the space includes a dedicated biology equipment area used for DIYbio activities: microscopes, thermocyclers, gel electrophoresis apparatus, an autoclave, and a centrifuge. DIYbio Toronto operates its meetups and hands-on activities out of this space.
