Microcosmos samples microorganisms invisible to the naked eye from local habitats — moss, water sources — around Shibuya, identifying specimens through microscopy.
The project is building a public database and map of microscopic life in the neighborhood, having already documented tardigrades, nematodes, ciliates, and other microbes with photos and video.
